Author assistance - I am putting together a books of poems with a military theme. The book is called ‘Over the Water” - a collection of poems by the Armed Forces and their families. May I appeal to your readers who may have scribbled their thoughts in the form of a poem, or be inspired to do so, regarding their experiences in the Army, RAF or Navy.
It doesn’t matter what it is about, it doesn’t have to be pretty, it can be humourous, sorrowful, romantic or angry, it can be written by a serviceman or woman, by the mother, wife, daughter, son, father, brother or anyone in the Armed Forces, as long as it has a military theme and can be slotted into sections for Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan or general.
I would also like to appeal to any war artists, who might be able to some illustratiolns, but in a very impressionist and colourful way!
The purpose of the booked would be to have a lasting legacy of an ara that has seen the British Army engage in modern warfare over the last thirty years, also to help raise funds for SSAFA, my book is non-profit making.
